The director, who will be present at these screenings, tells us about his film: "Brigneau is a small Breton port, long marked by fishing and sardine canning factories, but now undergoing a major transformation.
For some years now, three worlds have been living side by side here, without always understanding each other: the historic inhabitants who are attached to the area's working-class past, the residents who have come here in search of peace and quiet and to preserve the landscape, and the newcomers who are trying to breathe new life into the port through cultural, agricultural and community projects.
I moved here recently because my wife has her roots here. Like them, I'm looking for my place in an area that's already full of history and tensions.
For a year, I filmed this port and the people who live here: an old fisherman who misses a world that has disappeared but is curious about the new one, a restaurant owner who attracts people to the quayside but disturbs some of the local residents, an heir who is transforming a former factory into a cultural centre, and a farmer whose projects are upsetting the local balance.
Little by little, a central question emerges: who has the right to bring a territory to life, and according to what rules? Between memory, contemporary uses and the desire for transformation, Brigneau becomes the scene of a discreet but profound conflict over how to live in a place today.
