Frequently asked questions

Practical information for Brittany

  • Where is the Fouesnant forest?

The “Forêt de Fouesnant” does not exist. The commune is called“La Forêt-Fouesnant“. It is a densely wooded commune, neighbouring Fouesnant.

  • How do the tides work?

Tides are the regular rise and fall of sea level. They are caused by the attraction of the Moon and, to a lesser extent, the Sun on the oceans. When the Moon strongly attracts water to one side of the Earth, the sea level rises: this is high tide. On the other side, the water level falls: this is low tide. This phenomenon occurs around twice a day, creating a natural rhythm that influences shipping, fishing and coastal life.

    Consult the tide tables.
