It is little known, but Brittany cherishes the memory of a female chef who was undoubtedly one of the first to make her mark in the very male-dominated world of gastronomy: Mélanie Rouat.
She is also one of the figures who helped put the town on the map far beyond its borders.
To mark Heritage Days, come and visit her restaurant – now the municipal media centre – where local councillors and the Riec association, Mémoire & Avenir have chosen to pay tribute to her and to share the fascinating story of this passionate woman, notably through the permanent exhibition on display in the media centre’s garden.
