This exhibition came about by chance. The day Henri Camus, now deceased, came to Léchiagat to photograph life at the careening area, as part of the preparations for an exhibition on the trades. He discovered the panels on which the careeners were wiping the excess of their brushes, rollers and paintbrushes.

Surprised by the intermingling of raw colours, surprised by the collective elaboration of shapes, surprised by the interplay of solid colours and drips, surprised by the trace of enigmatic but significant gestures, surprised by these creations in the form of winks that he had never seen so numerous, so diverse, in any of the ports stretching from Loctudy to Douarnenez.
From November 2017 to December 2020, he wandered around the careening area on numerous occasions, poking around nooks and crannies, photographing panels and 'painted' surfaces without restraint. So this exhibition isn't really his, despite the signature at the bottom of the prints. He is not the artist; he claims no other status than that of witness.
any other status than that of witness. A witness to an ephemeral art form, individual or collective, deliberate or not, in which he wanted to put his own spin.
