Responding to a thirst for freedom and a relaxation of morals during the Regency, the licentious paintings of Boucher, Watteau, Fragonard and Greuze proclaim the joy of living, the delights of love, the alchemy of the senses, and pay tribute to both French taste and the joy of living. A libertine journey to the 18th century that also reveals the place of sensual pleasure and women in Enlightenment society.
