Description
As part of European Heritage Days.
A tour to discover the importance of Concarneau’s canning factories and the town’s development in the 19th century. In 1900, 32 of the 160 canning factories in France were based in Concarneau, drawing on the local workforce.
Traces of these factories are still visible: from the iconic chimney on Rue Lapérouse to the more subtle traces on some of the town’s buildings.
Meeting point: Maison du Patrimoine – Logis des Gardes
