The Clohars-Carnoët Memory and Heritage Association invites you to visit an Atlantic Wall bunker, situated at 1 bis Chemin de la Grenouille, in Le Pouldu, above Grands Sables beach, near the water sports centre.
Step inside this 775 m³ mass of concrete, where men lived through some very grim years. This historic site has been faithfully restored to its original state. It features an artillery firing range, ancillary rooms including the troops’ shelter, and a rear firing post.

The ‘Pouldu Blockhouse’, built as part of the Atlantic Wall, was reused by American troops and later by French fighters on the Laïta Front during the Lorient Pocket (10 August 1944 – 10 May 1945), notably as a shelter against German artillery bombardments from Guidel or Groix.
The visit is enhanced by a series of information panels, as well as period artefacts, weapons and uniforms. You can explore the site at your own pace or be accompanied by a tour guide, depending on your preference. A historical booklet about the Blockhaus is also available for purchase.
