Description
The Clohars-Carnoët Memory and Heritage Association invites you to visit an Atlantic Wall bunker, situated on Chemin de la Grenouille in Le Pouldu, above Grands Sables beach, near the water sports centre.
Step inside a 775 m³ mass of concrete where men lived through some very grim years. This historic site has been faithfully restored. It features an artillery firing range, ancillary rooms including the troops’ shelter, and a rear firing post.
Here you can learn about the Breton Resistance, the battles of the Lorient Pocket, and those on the Laïta Front.
The tour is enhanced by a series of information panels, as well as period artefacts, weapons and uniforms. You can explore the site at your own pace or be accompanied by a tour guide, depending on your preference. A historical booklet about the blockhouse is also available for purchase.
