In May, the town of Pont-Croix will be welcoming the Compagnie Sous la peau for a major contemporary dance event, combining artistic creation, encounters and cultural activities for local residents.
From 18 to 29 May, choreographer Claude Brumachon and his team will be in residence in the area to prepare for the presentation of three emblematic solos from his repertoire: Esclarmonde, Athéna and L'Intranquille. The residency will culminate in a public performance on Friday 29 May at 8pm at the Cité Musicale.
As well as the show itself, this project will focus on encounters with the public. Dance workshops for residents of Kan ar Mor and EHPAD Saint Yves in Pont-Croix and Ty Amzer Vad in Plouhinec will encourage physical expression, sharing and social interaction. On 27 May at 4pm, a public workshop will showcase the work done during the week with 8 disabled people from the Kan ar Mor home. A masterclass for amateur dancers and a public rehearsal with commentary will also provide an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the choreographic work.
By combining artistic creation, transmission and inclusion, this project illustrates the town's desire to make culture a meeting place and a place of openness, accessible to all.
