Description
Inspired by the extraordinary story of the Citizens’ Climate Convention, *Phoenix* tells the story of a Citizens’ Assembly, whose members were selected by lot, tasked with deliberating on the construction of a new shopping centre.
Climate change, technological progress, social justice… Those selected by lot are confronted with the key challenges of our century. Among them is Eva, a carefree and determined 18-year-old. Her participation in the Assembly will unsettle her family and shake up the different conceptions of freedom that drive each of the characters.
A thought-provoking play, brimming with black humour, which sweeps us up with frenzy and spellbinding intensity into our responsibility to break free from ignorance.
