Description
The Bigouden Museum has closed its doors whilst the château is being restored. So it invites you to explore beyond its walls!
La Maison Le Minor embarked on this wonderful adventure in textile craftsmanship in 1936, combining original designs, high-end ready-to-wear clothing, scarves, banners, home textiles, tapestries and traditional costumes…
This economic, cultural and aesthetic venture brought renown to the Pays Bigouden and Pont-l’Abbé for several decades.
To mark the 90th anniversary of Maison Le Minor, the museum is placing a special focus on ‘grand embroidery’, a prestigious craft.
La Maison Le Minor has revitalised the art of embroidery in collaboration with artists such as Dom Robert and Pierre Toulhoat to create large embroidered tapestries and banners, regarded as true works of textile art. Designs by new creators such as Patrice Cudennec and Gwenn Le Gac are still produced in their workshops.
