Description
Bravo Théâtre Company | Maï David and Gaëlle Héraut
“La part sombre” is the autobiographical account of the actress Maï David.
From the onset of the first symptoms to a return to a form of ‘normality’, she recounts the gradual yet brutal intrusion of schizophrenia into her life: the whispering voices, the isolation in a psychiatric hospital, and then the process of rebuilding her life.
She delivers a powerful one-woman show, free from pathos, enhanced by lighting effects as well as remarkable sound design centred on the voices. *La part sombre* does not merely address mental illness; it also explores the dark sides and flaws that we all possess.
The performance is followed by a post-show discussion with Maï David and two mental health professionals.
