Description
Become a pilot at the Fénoux Pilotage Tower
The Fénoux Pilotage Tower, renovated in 2024, is one of the last remaining examples of the pilotage tower invented by Julien Fénoux, a naval lieutenant from the Audiernes region, in the 1830s. From the turret, pilots used an articulated mast to guide ships along the correct route between the reefs and sandbanks.
The interactive display allows visitors to discover the history of the mast, its importance for access to the port of Audierne, and to learn about its signals.
