Journées Européennes du Patrimoine - Visite libre de la chapelle Saint-Budoc à Beuzec

The chapel at Beuzec, also known as Saint-Budoc, is a unique building with its magnificent stained-glass windows, notably the centrepiece window designed and created by the painter Jacques Godin and installed by the master glassmaker Charles Robert de Pluguffan. Beuzec was a parish until the Revolution, when it had a large church dedicated to Saint Budoc, the mentor of Saint Guénolé. Only the chancel remains of the 12th-century building. The nave collapsed in the last century. The four-panelled window (circa 1400) is remarkable. Inside, there are a few ancient statues. The fountain is situated 500 metres to the north. To the east of the chapel stands ‘Ar Groas Veur’, a Christianised stele, a reminder of the ancient Celtic cult. 200 metres to the south lies the Kerugou dolmen (burial chambers). The War Maez association runs the chapel.
