Description
An introduction to orienteering organised by the departmental orienteering committee.
Open to all; a sporting challenge aimed at young people from the Quimperlé area.
Programme:
9.30 am: Welcome at the esplanade of the water sports centre in Le Pouldu
10.00 am: The ‘Sprint’ orienteering race*
1.30 pm: The ‘Score Race’ orienteering race*
3.30 pm: Prize-giving ceremony
*The ‘Sprint’ orienteering race: A short, fast-paced race format. It takes place in urban areas or public parks where control points are close together and where the challenge requires making split-second decisions whilst running at full speed.
*The “Score Race” orienteering event: Participants must find as many control points as possible within a time limit, with no set order. Each control point is worth points based on its difficulty and distance. The winner is the person who scores the most points.
