Description
On Tuesday 15 September 2026, the town of Concarneau and the entire sailing community invite you to come together to honour the memory of Charlie Dalin.
In accordance with his final wish, Charlie wanted a huge, joyful and communal celebration of the sea. A unique occasion to celebrate his passion and bring together the entire sailing community.
Do come along in large numbers to share this exceptional day and inspire the younger generation!
ON THE PROGRAMME: in the bay of Concarneau and La Forêt-Fouesnant
The Grand Maritime Parade: A spectacular gathering bringing together the entire sailing community in Concarneau Bay (Ultim, IMOCA, Figaro, Class40, Mini 6.50, wingfoils, recreational sailors, fishermen), escorted by the SNSM, the French Navy and the Abeille Bretagne.
The ‘Minute of Noise’: No minute’s silence here! A musical barge will liven up the parade, accompanied by a concert of foghorns, sirens, applause and coloured smoke.
A spectacle in the skies: An exceptional flypast by a Rafale and an ATL2 from the French Navy.
On land: a giant screen on the Corniche, DJ sets, live broadcasts and even a daytime fireworks display.
Children will also take centre stage with a huge 25-metre sand mural and a permanent mural created from schoolchildren’s drawings.
And for this major event, the legendary MACIF Santé Prévoyance will take part in the parade before continuing its adventure with Sam Goodchild, with the Défi Azimut and then the Route du Rhum in its sights.
Closing ceremony: Daytime fireworks display
Screening of the film *L’Albatros hurleur* at the Cinéville cinema on 13 September (time to be confirmed)
