Description
A must-see showcase of Breton culture, the Cornouaille Quimper Festival puts on an incredible spectacle every summer in the streets of Finistère’s capital
It all began in 1922, during the opening of a cinema in Quimper and a charity event to which the Queens from neighbouring towns were invited. Given the event’s success, the following year saw the creation of the Fête des Reines, centred on the election of the ‘Queen of Queens’ from among the queens of the Cornouaille region. The festival was born!
Since then, it has spanned the decades and become an unmissable, century-old event that has evolved whilst remaining true to its roots. A rich history that continues to unfold!
Based in the historic heart of Quimper since 1923, the Festival de Cornouaille is a unique opportunity to discover Brittany.
Multigenerational, friendly, family-oriented and festive – come and rediscover Breton culture!
