Description
The choreographer offers a fresh perspective on the serpentine dances invented by Loïe Fuller. Drawn to this
sculptural entity composed of fabric, bamboo canes, sound, air and the body’s centrifugal force in an
active loop, Ola Maciejewska deconstructs this historical reference through hybrid forms. The invisible and the
visible, the material and the ephemeral, the real and the imaginary are carefully interwoven to play with what is presented to
the viewer.
Ola Maciejewska has ‘negotiated with a ghost’ and played with the history of dance to create a visual poem, a
fantastic tale: a fascinating cabinet of curiosities that is both timeless and contemporary.
