Loïe Fuller:
Dancing with Light
Sabine Krayenbühl, Zeva Oelbaum
This documentary invites us to discover the fascinating world of Loïe Fuller (1862–1928), a pioneering figure in modern dance.
A visionary artist, she revolutionised the performing arts by blending movement, light and technical innovation.
Through archive footage, interviews and re-enactments, the film traces the artist’s unique journey; she is famous for her ‘serpentine dance’, which transforms vast white veils into moving, luminous forms: a flame, a flower, a butterfly or even a bird in flight.
