Description
A self-taught artist, Pat has chosen to develop her practice outside academic frameworks in order to preserve the freedom and instinct that guide her creative process. The sea, which has been a constant presence in her daily life since childhood, inspires all her work.
He first turned to painting, using a palette knife and acrylics to convey what words cannot express.
The palette knife allows for a free and direct style, capable of capturing the raw energy of the maritime world. Acrylic creates depths and vibrations that evoke the life of the ocean.
Pollution is also a theme in his work; he feels it is essential to raise public awareness of the suffering the sea endures as a result of our waste. Painting thus becomes a sensitive means of illustrating this.
Sculpture extends this exploration. It incorporates pieces worn down by labour, marked by the harshness of fishing gear. By giving them a new form, he contributes to the recycling of these materials and offers them a second artistic life.
