Description
Maurice Labbé, following a professional career in IT, turned to the world of visual art. No pixels, but pastels, watercolours and oils, in the grand tradition of his predecessors. It was upon his retirement in 2010 that the artist answered the call of colour, setting up his easel in Guilvinec. The works that flow from his creativity are very diverse, as he may have been inspired by Giacometti or Zao Wou-Ki, moved by his own seascape photographs, or influenced by the styles of poster artists.
After a career in the insurance industry, Josiane Chatonnier is now based in Penmarch Kérity, Finistère. She took art classes for several years, drew nudes from live models, and learnt painting techniques using collage.She enjoys varying her subjects and techniques, such as watercolour, acrylic, oil, ink and ballpoint pens, using a range of surfaces including canvas, paper and wood.
