Description
During the summer, the Archipel hosts the work of two visual artists (painters, photographers, printmakers, etc.) from the Fouesnant area – whether amateur or professional – every week.
This week, it is showcasing the works of MEGLINE and Michel Inizan.
- MEGLINE, painting – acrylic
Having moved to the Fouesnant area upon her retirement, MEGLINE paints a life in blue, inspired by the landscapes around her. “Walking along the beach, feeling the wind slap my face just as the seagull lets itself be carried by it, playing with the gusts, admiring the sun’s reflection on the houses and the ocean, the wind and its spray – it’s like drawing near to the unattainable; the seagulls frolicking in the wind, my thoughts follow them, my imagination soars with them, and I wander beneath the swell… That’s what I love to capture.” MEGLINE
- Michel Inizan, painting – acrylic
As a former decorative painter (trained in trompe-l’œil at the Renaissance Bagnolet school), Michel Inizan also sought to familiarise himself with various artistic techniques – drawing, painting… – by attending evening classes for many years at the Fine Arts schools in Brest, Marseille, Rennes and Paris.
He is passionate about the many ways of depicting the landscape, with a particular fondness for seascapes, as well as marshes and rivers. He very often works in acrylic on painting paper, which he mounts onto a traditional stretcher frame or wooden panel.
