Description
The Canto choir and the children's choir from Fouesnant Conservatoire, directed by Pierre-Emmanuel Clair, will be accompanied by percussion, flute and piano. They'll put all their energy into telling you the story of South America and its inhabitants through the poems of Pablo Neruda's Canto General, set to music by Mikis Theodorakis.
You'll travel through geological and pre-Columbian times. You will discover the emergence of the earth, rivers, vegetation and animals, the beauty of the South American landscape, its flora and fauna.
Then came the conquistadores, greedy for power, persecuting and destroying everything in their path. You will hear the cries of revolt of the Indians and their resistance to colonisation, their fight for freedom. You'll be captivated by the unique rhythms and melodies that enhance the profound lyrics and intense emotion.
This song is a hymn to respect for all forms of life.
