Description
L'Echo des vagues will be giving a concert featuring Handel’s *Dixit Dominus* and excerpts from *The Messiah*!
We are 50 choristers and 3 soloists – Julia Barat and Camille Esvelin (soprano) and Alice Pamela (mezzo-soprano) – and will be accompanied by a Baroque orchestra comprising 2 violins, 2 violas, a cello, an organ and a harpsichord, conducted by Pierre Emmanuel Clair
Part 1:
Excerpts from *The Messiah* – the finest moments. This oratorio, an immense masterpiece, ranks amongst the world’s greatest sacred works, with its skilful, magnificent and luminous orchestration – sparkling, popular and synonymous with joy: who isn’t familiar with the famous *Hallelujah* chorus!
The Messiah is described as a “treasure of humanity” by the writer Stefan Zweig
Part 2:
Dixit Dominus, in its entirety – an early work, yet one of great maturity, with unflagging energy and truly virtuosic in nature; it is a marvel of sacred music, composed in 1707.
Tickets available at the Bar-Tabac chez Bruno in the village of Penmarc’h or at www.echodesvagues.fr
