100 years ago, the sardine workers made their voices heard and wrote a significant chapter in the social history of Brittany. To mark this centenary, come and enjoy a programme dedicated to their memory. - From 5.00 pm: Meet in the courtyard of the Berry-Tudy holiday camp, Avenue de Bretagne. Historical accounts by Serge Duigou, collected testimonies and songs by the choir “Les sardines à l’île”, also at Place des Rougets, La Cale, Place de la République and the Jardin de la Pointe with the schoolchildren. - At 6.30 pm: The afternoon will draw to a close at the Jardin de la Pointe with a speech by the Mayor, a drinks reception hosted by Les Doigts Toniques and the opening of the ‘Sardinez-vous?’ exhibition. At the multi-purpose hall: - From 7.30 pm: Food and drinks available; the event opens with a children’s dance. - From 8.00 pm: Traditional ball (admission: €8) featuring the groups La Ruée, the Beuze/Bizien/Rivoal Trio and Michèle Buirette on the accordion / Loïc Toularastel on the barrel organ. Polyphonic songs to dance to. Raffle draw during the ball. Event organised by the Mémoires d’île et d’elles association, the Bigoudènes en lutte association from Pontl’Abbé and Bag Leskon from Lesconil.
