Description
With Laurette Le Gall
Everything around us is made up of patterns – repetitions of shapes and colours. By observing the landscape around us, and by drawing and painting it, this workshop aims to teach you how to identify patterns in the natural world and play with them.
You will create your own coastal sketchbook, which you will then use to draw and paint using a variety of techniques. The workshop is primarily designed to sharpen your observational skills and is therefore not focused on teaching a specific technique.
The materials needed to create the sketchbook are provided, along with coloured pencils and basic paints. You are also welcome to bring any portable drawing or painting materials you are used to working with or would like to use.
Laurette Le Gall is an artist whose work takes various forms. In particular, she explores motifs through watercolour and photomontage, using these to create ‘scenic trompe-l’œil’ effects integrated into her installations.
