Description
Join Camille Amzallag to discover embroidery from a fresh, contemporary perspective. Using alphabets inspired by traditional cross-stitch patterns, create quirky, humorous or thought-provoking messages that challenge the conventions usually associated with this textile art form.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced embroiderer, this workshop invites you to play with words, images and stereotypes to create your own personal piece. If you’d like, bring along an item to personalise (a doily, bib, hand towel, vintage fabric, etc.).
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Cergy-Pontoise, Camille Amzallag develops work that blends drawing, photography and embroidery. She reinterprets traditional images and motifs to give them new meanings, often with humour and a touch of irreverence.
