Description
Come and discover the Pop-Pop, an amazing little metal boat powered… by a simple candle!
Invented in the late 19th century and popularised in the early 20th, the Pop-Pop works thanks to a tiny boiler filled with water. Its engine produces the famous ‘pop-pop’ sound that gave it its name and propels it forward without a propeller or battery.
During this activity, young and old alike will be able to:
- Discover how the Pop-Pop works
- Observe this surprising propulsion system
- Sail the boats on a pond provided for the occasion
- Take part in friendly little races
Boats are provided on site.
Free entry from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on each of the three days of the event.
