Parking Rond-Point de l'Odet, 29950 Clohars-Fouesnant

Description

This short walk offers a magnificent panorama of the Cornouaille bridge linking the Pays Fouesnantais to the Pays Bigouden and the mouth of the Odet. It starts by skirting the Penfoul cove, then enters the Beg Ar Vir woods as far as the Maison du Passeur. Beg ar Vir is a natural area consisting of a mudflat and several wooded plots planted with Oak, Beech and Holly trees, all of which contribute to the great scenic interest of the Odet ria. This small forest is home to the Arbutus tree, a shrub that is protected in Brittany, and is a favourite stopover for many species of bird, including the Spotted Woodpecker, Common Buzzard and Grey Cuckoo.
