In 2022, historian Christelle Taraud visited the Steilneset memorial in Norway, which pays tribute to the "witches" executed in the Finnmark region in the 17th century. Her book, Les Filles-au-diable,retrouver les 'sorcières' de Steilneset (1620-2022), a combination of intimate account, historical archives, poetic wanderings and political analysis, recently published by La Découverte, brings to light a different history of the 'witch' hunts - the matrix of feminicide in Europe - to shed new light on past and present violence.
