The Redadeg is a festive, popular charity relay race, open to all. Families, young and old, children, parents and grandparents run together. The aim is to carry a message in Breton across Brittany without stopping, and the big winner is the Breton language.
The event mobilises thousands of people across the five departments of Brittany and generates infectious enthusiasm.

Kilometres are sold to individuals, local authorities, businesses, associations... in other words, to any private individual or legal entity wishing to contribute to the event and support the Breton language. The profits are redistributed to projects that promote the use of the language in everyday social and family life.

The immediate success of the event has been confirmed over the years, generating continuous and significant growth both in terms of the distance covered and the amount of money raised.

HOW IT WORKS

At each kilometre, a person takes the baton and wears the jersey numbered with their kilometre. They are the bearer of the baton, which contains a message in Breton. This message and its author, kept secret until the finish line, are read on stage in front of the audience and kick off the celebrations.

Beyond purchasing the kilometre that gives you the right to carry the baton, participation is completely open and free of charge. Anyone can follow the baton carrier, to accompany them, support them, for fun and, above all, to support the Breton language.

Organised by Redadeg.
