For the third year running, the town of Concarneau is joining forces with the communes of Trégunc and Névez and the associations Bretagne Vivante, Esprit Nature and EquiAven for a major waste collection operation along the coast.

The operation will take place on Sunday 1 March 2026, from 10am to 12pm, following the spring tides, on the Natura 2000 site "Dunes and coasts of Trévignon".
The aim is twofold: to preserve the coastline and raise public awareness of the problem of marine litter. In previous years, almost 4 tonnes of waste were collected in 2024 and 2025. This is a significant volume, but the summaries drawn up mainly point to the growing presence of microplastics, which are difficult to collect.
On the beaches of Les Sables Blancs and La Belle Étoile at Le Cabellou
New this year in Concarneau: to ensure that participants are better distributed across the different sites, volunteers are invited to register by e-mail.
Registration is open until 22 February 2026 and can be sent by email to: [email protected]
Please specify the desired sector when registering.
Collection equipment (bags) will be provided on site. Participants are asked to bring gardening gloves and suitable footwear.
Precise meeting points, safety instructions and logistical information will be sent to those who register.
