Every year, the streets of Guilvinec and Léchiagat, the quays and squares, are transformed into an open-air museum to host more than 300 photos by professional photographers.

Every year since 2011, the port of Guilvinec-Treffiagat has played host to the Man and the Sea photography festival.
From the beginning of June to the end of September (and for the first time until the end of October this year), tens of thousands of visitors stroll through the town. No door to push, culture is in the streets.

Open 24 hours a day, this totally free event offers around twenty photo series to be discovered as you stroll through the city, following the wind and the mood.

The photographs reveal the links that men and women have with the maritime environment. Work, leisure, culture and living conditions are scrutinised. These are moving, tragic and disturbing stories, as well as poetic and funny ones, told by professional photographers from Brittany, France and every continent.

The Festival and its photographers are transmitters: they pass on a memory but also, and above all, a living, active and committed present. As proof of this, in addition to the exhibitions, conferences and screenings, meetings are organised with both the general public and schools.
