Expo peinture - Michel Hamelin "Ar mor, Ar coat"

Michel Hamelin studied at the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts, specialising in art teaching. Originally from Arcachon, he finds here the same duality between seascapes and ‘landscapes’. The pinasses of the Bassin rival the pine trees of his native Landes forest, just as the rugged cliffs of the Pointe du Raz stand in contrast to the camellias and rhododendrons of the floral parks In his exhibition “Ar mor Ar coat”, this Impressionist journey will take you from the sea mist of the coast to the undergrowth coloured by camellias; you will step back into the Middle Ages as you stroll through the narrow streets lined with improbable corbelled architecture. In his landscapes, he strives to capture that atmosphere laden with sea mist, those stormy skies blending with a sea of shifting colours, or that countryside ablaze with flowers in an Impressionist painting executed with a palette knife.
