"From Douarnenez, the three singers of Ypnako weave their voices together to pay tribute to the bitter sweetness of traditional music from the borders of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Accompanied by the haunting sound of the saz, they sing Greek laments, Turkish lullabies, Macedonian love songs and Bulgarian festive songs. The repertoire is built up over time, around the pleasure of making these ancient melodies resonate together.
