You must request your registration in the Insee Sirene directory. This formality is FREE and COMPULSORY for ALL seasonal rentals, main or secondary residence, professional yes non professional.

Tourist tax
The tourist tax is a contribution paid by the people
over 18 who stay in the town for a fee.
The municipality of La Forêt-Fouesnant in collaboration with the Community of Communes of Fouesnantais country set up an online reporting platform for hosts.
Ranking, label, BRAND
There are several possibilities to qualify your accommodation:
– the “Meublé de Tourisme” ranking
– labeling: Gîtes de France, Clévacances
– the “Tourism and Disability” brand
Obtaining a classification or a label is done on a voluntary basis and allows you to enhance your seasonal rental and stand out from the competition.
Advantages :
– a guarantee of the quality of your accommodation for your customers
– potentially more advantageous taxation: 71% reduction instead of 50% for unclassified rentals
– the possibility of accepting holiday vouchers
– The classification allows a fixed rate for the tourist tax
- Le classification "Meublé de Tourisme"
The classification is valid for campsites, hotels, vacation rentals (bed and breakfasts cannot be classified). It is awarded by an approved organization, which, depending on the level of comfort and service, awards accommodation from 1 to 5 stars for a period of 5 years.

- The label Gîtes de France
The Gîtes de France label is valid for vacation rentals and guest rooms. It guarantees precise quality standards and compliance with a charter. All accommodations are labeled according to their environment, their degree of comfort and services. Gîtes de France delivers accommodation from 1 to 5 ears of corn for a period of 3 years.
- The label Clevacances
The Clévacances label is valid for vacation rentals and guest rooms. Each of the rentals and bed and breakfasts has undergone a labeling inspection to check that it complies with the demanding Clévacances quality charter. This includes more than 200 criteria: comfort and facilities, location and environment, reception and assistance… Clévacances delivers accommodation from 1 to 5 keys. Subsequently, a control visit takes place every 4 years.

- Sorting of waste

- Police card for foreigners
Upon arrival at the tourist establishment, the individual police form must be completed and signed by all tenants of foreign nationality, including by a national of the European Union, .
It must be kept by the professional for 6 months, and sent to the police or gendarmerie services only at their request.
Children under the age of 15 can be listed on the card of an accompanying adult.

- Registration number
In the cities which have decided by deliberation of the Municipal Council, all tourist rentals must have a registration number to be published in each rental advertisement.
!!! Does not apply to the municipality of La Forêt-Fouesnant.

- Housing tax
As soon as the owner of a vacation rental manages his rental himself, he is considered to have the enjoyment of the property, even if he does not use it. Its rental therefore forms part of its personal residence and is subject to housing tax as a secondary residence. Only people who have signed an exclusive rental management contract are exempt from housing tax.
The CCPF of Pays Fouesnantais voted to remove the exemption from the CFE (Cotisation Foncière des Entreprise) for furnished rentals. Consequently, properties offered for vacation rental are subject to housing tax AND the CFE.
